Ci ritroviamo con grande piacere coinvolti in questo studio dal titolo "Oltre l’estetica McNuggets. Esplorazioni creative e interazioni tecno-sociali nella produzione artistica realizzata con l’IA" di Paola Panarese, Vittoria Azzarita, Maddalena Carbonari, portato avanti da Sapienza e CNR per il progetto PRIN PNRR IMAGES. Il primo artefatto prodotto è un articolo accademico pubblicato su Im@go che riporta frammenti, pensieri e considerazioni di artisti significativi in Italia che sperimentano con l'IA. In the contemporary cultural landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a powerful accelerator of processes in a variety of fields, including the arts. So, the diffusion of AI in art-making raises crucial questions about the ability of AI to appreciate or produce art, the evolution of aesthetic diversity in the software age, and the future of artistic expression. On this basis, as part of the PRIN PNRR IMAGES project, this paper, through in-depth interviews with Italian artists who integrate AI into their creative routines, explores the dynamics of the relationship between AI and art, reflecting on changes in the processes of signification through artistic production. The results highlight that artists, aware of the transformations underway, endeavor through their works to challenge the commercial aesthetics of AI, which reproduces standardized and homogenizing social representations. Art, therefore, emerges as a space for experimentation and exploration of unconventional ideas, playing a significant role in new forms of relationships between humans and algorithmic systems.
